We know that a lot of you are planning on going to Walt Disney World for the Holidays. Make sure that you check the list of attractions that will be closed for refurbishment, so that you are not disappointed while you are there. The list is always changing so make sure to check before you leave. Not all closures are scheduled, and there are countless reasons why an attraction might suddenly close. Below are the current lists.
Magic Kingdom:
- Liberty Square Riverboat – January 18, 2016 to February 22, 2016
- Liberty Tree Tavern – July 6, 2015 to November 25, 2015
- Splash Mountain – January 1, 2016 to January 14, 2016
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover – December 7, 2015 to December 10, 2015
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – January 18, 2016 to February 11, 2016
- Walt Disney World Railroad – September 28,2015 to November 5, 2015
- Monorail – currently through December 2015. The monorail is under refurbishment and may have modified service or routes. You should check on the day of travel the best option to use. Alternative transportation options may be available.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
- Jedi Training Academy – October 4, 2015 to November 30, 2015
- Pizza Planet – January 11, 2016 to Late 2016
- The Phineas & Ferb and Lightning McQueen & Tow Mater meet and greets closing January 4, 2015.
Epcot:
- My Magic+ Service Center located inside Innoventions East is now closed. You can visit Guest Relations in Future World or any of the FastPass kiosks.
- Maelstrom (aka new Frozen ride) – October 15, 2014 to April 30, 2016
- Soarin – January 4, 2016 until summer of 2016
- Sum Of all Thrills – November 30, 2015 to December 4, 2015
Water Parks:
- Typhoon Lagoon – January 3, 2016 to March 12, 2016
- Blizzard Beach – October 25, 2015 to January 2, 2016
Disney Springs (a.k.a Downtown Disney)
- Fulton’s Crab House – January 1, 2016 to April 1, 2016
- Planet Hollywood – January 1, 2016 to June 1, 2016
- Downtown Disney Water Taxi will now only run from the Marketplace to the West Side Docks. There will be no stop at the Pleasure Island Dock.
- Parking Lots Entrance 2 Lots A-G closed from December 1, 2014 to August 1, 2016 due to the construction of Town Center and the East Garage.
- Buena Vista Drive is under construction in the Downtown Disney area. The road is being expanded to 10 lanes and several pedestrian bridges will be built and expected to be completed in March, 2016.
