Disney Dream Enhancements Include Star Wars, Disney Infinity, and Other Makeovers

Star Wars Experience on the Disney Dream

Disney Dream during her first dry dock in October, will have some exciting changes to the children’s spaces. A newly themed area in Disney’s Oceaneer Club, for ages 3 to 12, will transport children with an out-of-this-galaxy experience inspired by Star Wars.  Our kids will want to stay in the kids club the whole time we are on ship.  They already love the Oceanceer’s Club and Lab.

Kids will be transported to a faraway galaxy in Star Wars: Millennium Falcon, a Force-filled play area inspired by the spacecraft.  Upon entering the spaceship, kids will be able join the Rebel Alliance in the epic battle of good versus evil by assisting with the navigation of this space vehicle.  Sitting in the cockpit, kids can pilot a spaceship through hyperspace and trigger light speed jumps to different locations around the galaxy.

In the Millennium Falcon, kids can participate Star Wars themed crafts, games andactivities. They can also watch episodes from the new Disney XD animated series, “Star Wars Rebels,” on a large screen or virtually join the rebellion at gaming stations.

The excitement continues during a shipboard version of the popular Jedi Training Academy experience at Hollywood Studios that invites young Jedi’s, “Padawans”, to learn light saber moves from a Jedi Master. They can then use the Force and face off in a final test against the evil Darth Vader.

High-Tech Disney Infinity Space Adds Adventure for Kids 

A high-tech interactive space based on the Disney Infinity video game will offer more fun for kids.  In the Disney Infinity Toy Box area, kids can experience a new way of playing together with  virtual experiences and fun activities.  Kids will be able to customized, on-screen adventures will bring to life characters and stories.

Disney Infinity character figures will be on display and available for game play. Kids visiting this special room will be able to unlock exclusive Disney Cruise Line content that they can enjoy when playing Disney Infinity at home.  My kids love Disney Infinity so it was be interesting to see what special features open up when we get home.

A life-sized Disney Infinity Base sets the stage where kids take the place of character figures for a group gaming experience.  Lighting up in response to game play on a large screen, this interactive floor will allow kids to be immersed in the Toy Box.

Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats

Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats will offer handmade gelato and ice cream, an assortment of candy, and some novelty treats for purchase.  The smell of baked waffle cones and candy will linger from the specialty store’s two entrances on Deck 11.  I will be in heaven!

Resembling the whimsical candy land of the Sugar Rush race car game in “Wreck-It Ralph,” the sweet shop’s decor features a race track and checkerboard patterned floor, gas pump-style gumball dispensers, Vanellope’s race car and King Candy’s throne.

Magical Makeover Salon for Princesses and Pirates

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will be coming to Deck 5 midship.  Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will offer aspiring princesses and knights, ages 3 to 12, the chance to transform into royalty with the help of a fairy godmother-in-training.  On pirate party night, the boutique becomes The Pirates League where swashbuckling pirates of all ages will have the opportunity to unleash their enter pirate.

Disney Cruise Line merchandise

A little know fact is now you can actually buy Disney Cruise Line merchandise from the Disney Store.  Once only available on the ship and Castaway Cay, this is a nice way to get some gear before, or after your trip. Surprise your kids about the trip with a Disney Cruise Line Towel or shirt. There are also Disney Cruise Line Lanyards, jackets, tshirts and much more. There are even Disney Cruise Line Spa products, so if you used the spa and “need your fix”, go over and get some Disney Cruise Line merchandise a the Disney Store.

 

Dry Dock Dates

This wave of enhancements to the Disney Dream debuts on the October 26 four-night voyage from Port Canaveral, following the ship’s dry dock October 4-24, 2015.    Which new space are you most excited about?
