Attractions that will be closed for refurbishment

Disney Christmas 2006 1082We know that a lot of you are planning on going to Walt Disney World for last part of summer and in the fall.  Make sure that you check the list of attractions that will be closed for refurbishment, so that you are not disappointed while you are there. The list is always changing so make sure to check before you leave.  Not all closures are scheduled, and there are countless reasons why an attraction might suddenly close.  Below are the current lists.

Magic Kingdom:

  •  Liberty Square Riverboat – August 04, 2015 to August 10, 2015
  •  Liberty Tree Tavern – July 06, 2015 to November 19, 2015
  •  Pirates of the Caribbean – May 11, 2015 to September 25, 2015
  •  Dream Along with Mickey – July 19, 2015 to August 22, 2015
  • Walt Disney World Railroad – September 28,2015 to November 5, 2015
  • Monorail  currently through December 2015. The monorail is under refurbishment and may have modified service or routes. You should check on the day of travel the best option to use. Alternative transportation options may be available.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

  • Voyage of the Little Mermaid – September 7, 2015 to September 10, 2015

Epcot:

  • My Magic+ Service Center located inside Innoventions East is now closed. You can visit Guest Relations in Future World or any of the FastPass kiosks.
  • Living with the Land – September 8, 2015 to September 17, 2015
  • Maelstrom (aka new Frozen ride) – October 15, 2014 to April 30, 2016

Water Parks:

  • Typhoon Lagoon – some point in January 2016 to March 2016
  • Blizzard Beach – October 25, 2015 to TBD

Disney Springs (a.k.a Downtown Disney)

  • Fulton’s Crab House – January 1, 2016 to April 1, 2016
  • Planet Hollywood – January 1, 2016 to June 1, 2016
  • Downtown Disney Water Taxi will now only run from the Marketplace to the West Side Docks. There will be no stop at the Pleasure Island Dock.
  • Parking Lots Entrance 2 Lots A-G closed from December 1, 2014 to August 1, 2016 due to the construction of Town Center and the East Garage.
  • Buena Vista Drive is under construction in the Downtown Disney area.  The road is being expanded to 10 lanes and several pedestrian bridges will be built and expected to be completed in March, 2016.
