Disney PhotoPass

Update December 2015:

The price for the advance-purchase Memory Maker product (which does not include photos taken within three days of purchase) is now $149. The price for the standard Memory Maker product (which can be used immediately upon purchase) is now $169.

If you do not want to take your expensive camera to Disney or want to be in that special family picture, make sure that you take advantage of the Disney PhotoPass photographers. You will see the Disney PhotoPass photographers wearing dark blue and beige outfits.  They can be found in the parks as well as some Disney Resort hotels and restaurants to capture the highlights of your vacation.  There is no charge nor pressure to use the Disney PhotoPass services.  Something free at Disney, yay!  They will give you a Disney PhotoPass card or you can use your MagicBand, park ticket or Memory Maker ID to link your pictures to your account.  If you’ve taken your own photos, you can upload them on the PhotoPass website and add them to the products they offer.  I took a picture of the Disney PhotoPass guy being silly with my son to get him to smile for a picture.

For guests who are using an active MagicBand when they ride on select attractions, the photos will automatically be added to their My Disney Experience account. For guests without a MagicBand, there are new touch points at Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Space Mountain and Splash Mountain.  After riding, find your photo on the preview wall and touch your park ticket or Memory Maker card to the touch point and your photo will be added to your account.  Touch points are being added to the other attractions by mid-November.

If you do not want to take your camera or want all the pictures that the Disney PhotoPass photographers take, you should look at the Memory Maker package. When you purchase the Memory Maker package in advance $169.99, now only $149 as of December 2015, you will save $20. Do not worry, if get home and decide that you love most of your pictures, you can still purchase the Memory Maker package for $199.99 $169 for all your pictures. To view your photos from home you are required to complete a quick online registration process.

The pictures will expire on the card, so keep that in mind. Prints and other products are available to purchase in the parks, resorts or from the comfort of your home. We normally do not buy the pictures, however we have bought Christmas cards and Christmas ornaments from Disney PhotoPass. The digital downloads are $14.95 each. The greeting cards start at $24.95. We did buy the Disney’s Photo CD package while we were at Aulani. Some of the photographers at Aulani had GoPro’s in the pools and the beach, so they capture some fun pictures. We always take advantage of the Disney PhotoPass photographers, most of the time they will even take pictures with your camera as well. There are times that the lines are too long and they cannot accommodate this request. Disney PhotoPass is great way to let friends or family know how your trip is going while you are still on vacation. To share photos with guests in your group, be sure to add them to your Family and Friends list.

Also, if your camera breaks or gets lost, you do not lose all your pictures. There are times that Disney photographers capture that “Magical” picture that is a must have picture. They do also have a Special Offer tab on the Disney PhotoPass page so make sure you check it out before you make your purchase.

Tip:

Disney Photo PassMake sure that you text the 16 digit ID number or take a picture of the back Disney PhotoPass card with your cell phone.  The 16 digit Disney PhotoPass id number is what you need to view your pictures whether in the park or at home.  So if you lose your card, you do not lose your photos.  You can also link more than one Disney PhotoPass card to your account.
